ENG 720 - Sixteenth-Century Literature
A study will be made of readings in the poetry and prose of the English Renaissance, from its continental origins to the end of the Elizabethan Age. Humanism, critical theory, and the principal literary genres will be analyzed. The contributions of More, Sidney, and Spenser will be emphasized.
