NUR 401 - Care of Individuals and Populations with Behavioral/Mental Health This course investigates the role of the nurse in the application of nursing process to individuals and groups with behavioral and mental health disorders. Prevention, assessment and nursing treatment of individuals and groups with behavioral and mental health disorders will be discussed. Emphasis is placed on assisting individuals, families and communities with the promotion, restoration, maintenance of health and the evaluation of nursing care in those situations. This course includes both didactic/theoretical learning as well as exposure to adult patients in a variety of in-patient and out-patient behavioral health clinical settings. Lecture Credits: 6 Prerequisite: NUR 301 Equivalent(s): NURS 401/NUR 4010 Offered in the Spring Semester
