PHL 354 - Feminist Philosophy This course surveys a broad range of concepts, themes, and debates central to feminist philosophy. We will discuss issues of identity: What does it mean to be a feminist? What does it mean to be a woman? Why do we have different - and at times competing - notions of feminism? We will also explore how our identities are shaped by other social constructions such as race, ethnicity, class, and sexual orientation. Our engagement with seminal feminist texts will help us reexamine social practices and reconstruct moral theories through feminist lenses. Lecture Credits: 3 Prerequisite: PHL 210 or PHL 215 or PHL 216 or PHL 217 or PHL 218 or PHL 219 or PHL 221 Offered in Alternate Years, Spring Semester
