BUS 235 - Athletic Event and Facilities Management This course covers the fundamental principles associated with athletic facility and event management. The course will examine the current research related to planning, funding, and operating sporting events and sport/recreation facilities. Students will learn the principles and processes involved in effective sport facility management including facility design, planning, systems, risk management, marketing, and maintenance planning. Students will also explore event management concepts such as creating and developing an event, the impact(s) on constituents’ groups, marketing/sponsorship, and the potential positive and negative outcomes of sporting events. Through visits and tours of various sport and/or recreation facilities, students will be able see practical applications of theories learned in the classroom. Lecture Credits: 3 Prerequisite: BUS 225 Offered: Spring
