Information Systems and Business Analytics, when properly managed and leveraged, can give organizations a definite competitive advantage. Accordingly, the principal objective of the Information Systems and Business Analytics program is to develop the skill set necessary to analyze, design and evaluate an organization’s information and technology resources. To this end, courses in the program present technical, analytical, and behavioral dimensions of computer-based information systems whose purpose is to support an organization’s information and decision technology infrastructure. Throughout the program there is a great emphasis placed on “hands on,” project-related work using a variety of applications development and analytics tools.
The department conducts a credit-bearing internship program in which students participate in projects at external organizations. Select students who have demonstrated high academic achievement are admitted to the internship program.
