Requirements
A. Starting a new language:
Students starting a language must take the sequence: 150, 250, 251 before acceptance in the Minor/Major in the Department of Foreign Languages.
B. For students with previous experience in a language:
- Students placed in the 250 level or equivalent, whose grade is a B+ or higher in the 250, can opt for the 300 level.
- Students placed in the 250 level or equivalent, whose grade is lower that a B or below, must take a 251 level course.
- Students starting at the 300 level will complete their Minor/ Major with 300/400 level courses.
Major Requirements
Students who choose to major in Italian must complete the following:
Prerequisite
A minimal proficiency at the intermediate level of the language is required for any 300 or 400 level course.
A. Major Courses
Three additional courses or nine credits chosen from the 300 and 400 level courses under the direction of the department chair or adviser.
B. Capstone Requirement
Candidates for the BA in Italian must complete
