Requirements for the MS in Teaching, Adolescence Education (7-12):
The MS in Teaching (MST) is designed for individuals with bachelor’s degrees who seek careers in teaching adolescence education but lack formal training in teacher education.
Core Courses for all MS in Teaching Adolescence Programs:

- Content Area Graduate Elective(s) Chosen in consultation with content department - (3-6 credits)*
- One additional EDU course - Special Project in: Mathematics (951); Social Studies (952); Spanish (953); English (954); Biology Education (957) - (3 credits)

In addition to the Core Courses listed above, students are expected to have completed course work in the following topics. Please note that up to 12 missing prerequisite credits can be fulfilled while taking graduate classes.
- American Republic
- Historical Geography or Economics of Global Resources
- Intro to American Government or Global Politics
- Micro or Macro Economics
- Modern America
- Study of History
- Tradition & Modernity of the Non-Western World
- Upper level History courses
