Requirements for the MS in Teaching, Adolescent Education (7-12):
The MS in Teaching (MST) is designed for individuals with bachelor’s degrees who seek careers in teaching adolescent education but lack formal training in teacher education.
Core Courses for all MS in Teaching Adolescent Programs:
Meeting the Content Core Requirement: Social Studies
In addition to the Core Courses listed above, completion, as prerequisites or co-requisites, of a minimum of 30 undergraduate or graduate credits in
- Economics (3 credits)
- Political Science (3 credits)
- History of Non-Western Civilizations (3 Credits)
- American History (6 credits)
- Geography (3 credits)
- Study of History (3 credits)
- Major Level History Courses (9 credits)
