ENG 762 - Victorian Literature


This course examines Victorian writers’ engagement with industrialization, scientific inquiry, and a changing world, and pays particular attention to how literary trends reflected these transitions. Specific topics will include realism, aestheticism, sensation fiction, and the autobiography. Authors will include Charles Dickens, Charlotte Brontë, Robert Browning, and Oscar Wilde.
