OT 642 - Health Care and Education Policy and Access


In this course, students will explore current US healthcare and education policy and access and its implication on occupational therapy practice. They will also examine global health care issues specific to occupational therapy and related health professions.  Students will identify ethical dilemmas that OT service providers may confront in practice and strategies that they can use for analyzing and resolving ethical dilemmas.   How healthcare and education services are funded for persons across the lifespan as well as trends and challenges in funding especially for persons with disabilities will also be examined.
