NUR 520 - Foundations of Organizational Leadership

This course provides a holistic introduction to evidenced-based healthcare organizational leadership (HOL) as a grounding framework for a successful and impactful leadership career. Students will acquire essential knowledge and skills that typify nursing leadership effectiveness at various levels of healthcare organizations. Students will learn about contemporary and traditional organizational leadership theory and draw from those theories to shape and influence personal leadership behaviors. This course is focused on exploring behaviors, organizational culture, mission/values, and ethical principles necessary to facilitate effective leadership within healthcare organizations.
