NUR 632 - Design Thinking for Institutional Change This course focuses on the theoretical concepts, philosophies, and psychosocial processes associated with design thinking to enhance creative analysis and problem solving within healthcare organizations. Drawing from perspectives in design cognition, learning sciences, human-centered interaction, and creativity, students will learn how design thinking facilitates understanding of the environment in order to identify and manage ill-defined problems in healthcare. Students will learn how to balance the challenges of organizing, managing, and leading innovation with the need to produce concrete, routine, and expected outcomes within healthcare organizations. Students will learn a series of design thinking concepts, methods, and techniques that are used to bring about innovation in healthcare organization.
