                  EDU 210 - An Introduction to Special Education This course provides the foundations for teachers of special education and exceptional students.  Included within the course are effective practices for co-teaching and collaboration with peers; comprehending different disabilities categories; identification and remediation of disabilities; Special education process-State and Fed laws and regulations; individualizing instruction and applying positive behavioral supports and interventions to address student and classroom management needs.  Course requirements include a ten-hour field experience in special education classrooms, grades 1-12 and submission of the major assessment to TaskStream. Lecture Credits: 3 Offered in the Fall Semester
