SOW 3620 - Field Instruction in Social Work II This is the second in a sequence of two courses that provide supervised classroom instruction in conjunction with the year-long field practicum (200 hours/semester). The course furthers students’ understanding of biopsychosocial assessment, and includes introduction to mental status exams and DSM-V diagnoses. In addition, it deepens and enhances student knowledge of generalist practice principles and theories, as well as effective communication skills with diverse clients. Emphasis is given to the examination of specific intervention approaches, as well as the evaluation and the termination phases in the planned change process. Only open to social work majors. Practicum Credits: 4 Prerequisite: SOW 3610 and Corequisite: SOW 4910 Offered in the Spring Semester
