HON 200 - Humanities Inquiry I In this seminar, students will study a range of foundational texts and other forms of human expression to broaden students’ perspectives on perennial issues and challenges facing human individuals, societies, and cultures. The subjects of these texts will cover all areas of the humanities (history, literature, philosophy, religion) and the arts. A distinguishing feature of this seminar is its use of texts and materials from the prehistoric era to roughly 500 C.E. as well as from other time periods. Texts and materials will come from a variety of civilizations, cultures, and geographical regions. As students continue to develop writing, reading, and presentation skills, these texts and materials will serve as pivot points for seminar participants to consider current conditions and concerns through the lenses that past texts and materials provide. Seminar Credits: 3 Prerequisite: Honors status and HON 150 Equivalents: HON 102 and ENG 120 Honors Program Course
Offered in the Spring Semester
