A student enrolled in the five-year combined BA/MA program in English will undertake15 graduate credits while pursuing the regular undergraduate English major (30 credits). The 15 graduate credits (which commence in the spring semester of the junior year) will count toward the 120 credits required for the BA degree and toward the 33-36 credits required for the MA in English. In the fifth year, the student will complete 18 or 21 graduate credits in fulfillment of the requirements for the MA in English. To enter the program (normally in the junior year), students must have attained a 3.3 undergraduate overall index and a 3.5 index in their undergraduate English courses. To continue in the program, students must maintain a 3.0 index in their graduate courses and a 3.5 index in their undergraduate major courses.
