Requirements
A. Starting a new language:
Students starting a language must take the sequence: 150, 250, 251 before acceptance in the Minor/Major in the Department of Foreign Languages.
B. For students with previous experience in a language:
- Students placed in the 250 level or equivalent, whose grade is a B+ or higher in the 250, can opt for the 300 level.
- Students placed in the 250 level or equivalent, whose grade is lower that a B or below, must take a 251 level course.
- Students starting at the 300 level will complete their Minor/ Major with 300/400 level courses.
Minor Concentration
In addition to six credits for core curriculum requirements, students wishing to minor in French, Italian or Spanish must complete 12 credits chosen from 300 and 400 level courses in the language of their choice. Students in the School of Business may major in French, German, Italian, or Spanish.
