BIO 410 - Introduction to Pharmacology This course is an introduction into the field of pharmacology, the study of chemicals on living organisms. In this course, a survey will be conducted of the variety and types of drugs(natural and syntheic, legal and illegal) that are available to the human population. Drugs that affect the central nervous, endocrine, and cardiovascular systems, in addition to those that are used to combat cancer and other diseases will be covered in this course. Emphasis will be placed on mechanism of drug action and its effects on human biochemistry and physiology. Drug design and development, as used by the pharmaceutical industry, will also be studied. Lecture 3 Credits Prerequisite: CHM 210
