SOW 3610 - Social Work Field Seminar I

This is the first in a sequence of two courses that provide supervised classroom instruction in conjunction with the year-long professional practicum (200 hours/semester). The purpose of the professional practicum is to apply the knowledge, skills, values, cognitive and affective processes, as well as ethical standards explored within the classroom to actual social work situations. Integration of agency based and academic learning is facilitated through practical rounds, practice re-enactments and analysis, student engagement in the IPE foundations modules, as well as other experiential activities designed to promote the development of competent generalist social work practitioners who have also been prepared for competent interprofessional collaborative practice.
