SPA 418 - Children and Adolescent Hispanic Literature

This class will introduce the student to children and adolescent literature from the Spanish-speaking world. The class will present this literary subgenre in terms of its structure and content at different times. Examples of Hispanic authors will be analyzed and presented, as well as the different objectives of this subgenre, beginning with the Modernist era and ending with contemporary works. The second part of the course will present works of peninsular children and adolescent literature ranging from the time of the second Spanish republic to the present.
