CHM 140 - Chemistry of Emotions CHM 140 is an introductory lecture and laboratory course that introduces students to chemistry in the context of how their body responds to stress, love, sadness and emotions. Emotional systems are a collection of conscious experiences categorized by states of mind, external and internal reactions, and expressions. There are chemical messengers that are linked to the these emotional systems. Understanding the chemical structure of these messengers is essential to understand their functions and interactions with their target in the human body. These topics will be presented in the context of fundamental chemical and biochemical concepts such as energy, atomic and molecular structure, the scientific laws of conservation, macromolecules, the cell, etc. Lecture 3 Credits Offered in Fall & Spring
