College Core

• CS 201 - Computer Science I 4 Credits
• MTH 231 - Calculus 1 4 Credits
• One laboratory-based course acceptable for major credit in Biology, Chemistry or Physics (such as BIO 101, BIO 125, CHM 109, PHY 101)

Major Prerequisites

• CS 202 - Computer Science II 4 Credits
• MTH 310 - Discrete Mathematics 3 Credits
• MTH 408 - Automata and Formal Languages 3 Credits
• Two additional Mathematics courses for major credit selected from the following list in consultation with an advisor: MTH 232, MTH 233, MTH 236, MTH 240, MTH 250, any 300 or 400 level MTH class. 6-8 Credits
• One laboratory-based course acceptable for major credit in Biology, Chemistry or Physics to complete the sequence from the college core (such as BIO 120, BIO 225, CHM 110, PHY 202). 4-5 credits
• Two additional courses in Biology, Chemistry or Physics acceptable for major credit (courses need not be in the same discipline). 6-10 credits

Index Requirement

CS 201 , CS 202  and all other CS courses counted toward the major must be completed with a minimum grade of “C”. To continue in the major, students who do not meet this requirement must repeat the course before taking any other course for which this course is a prerequisite.
