The Master of Science in Education (MSEd) in Special Education and Literacy (All Grades) is a comprehensive 45-credit program designed for certified teachers who wish to enhance their expertise in supporting students with unique learning challenges in grades preK-12, specifically in literacy and special education. This innovative program offers a learning sciences-based understanding of literacy and special education instruction, backed by evidence-based teaching methods and hands-on experiences, to equip educators with the strategies necessary for their student’s academic success. Graduates will emerge with both certifications in Literacy (All Grades) and Teaching Students with Disabilities (All Grades) allowing them to work across pre-kindergarten to 12th grade. Additionally, completing this MSEd fulfills the graduate degree requirements for professional certification in elementary or adolescent education.

Prerequisite
Initial certification in adolescent content area
Literacy methods: 6 credits in adolescent literacy (comparable to EDU 655 and EDU 658 )
