POL 371 - Politics of Global Health An exploration of the political controversies surrounding global public health, with a special emphasis on poverty and development. This course looks at how the world cooperates to confront the most persistent global health emergencies, such as HIV/AIDS, maternal health, tuberculosis or malaria. Multilateral institutions including the UN system and World Bank figure prominently, as do the perspectives of developing countries. Lecture Credits: 3 Offered Spring Semester Alternate Years
